System Administrator 1

FLEXTECHS is looking for an experienced System Administrator for a full-time temp to hire (40 hr/wk) for a position located in the Boise, ID area.

As a System Administrator, you  will install, maintain, and troubleshoot PC hardware and software, as well as resolve most users and systems problems. This position will assist with system administration and technical support across the operations environment; serve as a consultant and adviser to users and staff on system needs and operations/telecommunications problems; and perform related work.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Information Technology Support

  • Monitors problem/change activities
  • Coordinates interactions between staff and end-users to respond to requests
  • Provides training to users on hardware and software applications
  • Troubleshoots and maintains data servers, user devices, and communication tools
  • Performs testing activities
  • Installs and maintains hardware and software products
  • Assists in defining system standards and procedures
  • Installs, configures, and tests application software packages
  • Configures user and network equipment according to company standards
  • Installs, configures, and tests application software packages
  • Assists in defining system standards and procedures
  • Installs network infrastructure equipment hardware; identifies, evaluates, and corrects hardware, software, or operations problems
  • Monitors and troubleshoots network system performance and networking problems
  • Makes recommendations for future hardware and software additions or enhancements
  • Provide telephone, in-person and online support to all company users
  • Procurement of computer accessories and supplies
  • Document troubleshooting steps for knowledge base and create SOP’s for each company department
  • Provide after-hours support
  • Ability to work independently with careful attention to detail
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Software Application/Education Support

Become familiar with all company software applications and become the expert and liaison for problem solving as well as education with such products as: Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Apple Computer Products and All other company software and hardware applications

Measures of Performance

  • All assigned tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing processes, rules, and deadlines is consistently demonstrated.
  • The degree of morale, focus, and motivation is consistently maintained at a high level.
  • The Director of IT is kept apprised of any issues or unresolved errors and is consulted when non-routine questions or situations arise.
  • All department operating procedures, rules, and guidelines are followed.
  • All company rules and policies are followed, including those pertaining to attendance.

REQUIRED Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Experience in General IT and Help Desk support tasks
  • Critical thinking skills and an analytical mind with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Enthusiastic about working collaboratively
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Pleasant demeanor and strong customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

The position does require a good driving record, and the ability to lift/carry/move/throw/catch/hustle.
