Social Media Manager
The Social Media Manager is an exceptionally creative thinker who is primarily responsible for engaging with online social community members. Social networking is to be used as a communication vehicle for marketing to new customers, providing a positive customer experience for current customers, and simultaneously cultivating a healthily engaged community across an ever-growing number of social platforms. The Social Manager will perform the critical task of interacting with our fans in a positive manner and making our social media pages more interesting, personal, and relevant to our audience.
Reporting to the WW Social Media Manager, you will:
- Manage conversations and maintain high-engagement levels on our English social pages, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube
- Create eye-catching social posts (memes, images, gifs, videos, ads) that cover a mix of geek humor, IT knowledge, tech tips, industry news, system builds, gaming events, eSports news, and gaming trends
- Work closely with content marketing group to leverage videos and visual imagery for social media purposes
- Manage regular giveaways suitable to our audiences and to our various regions
- Post regularly to English platforms and engage with the community in a personal and authentic manner
- Respond to English questions, posts, and direct messages on our various platforms in a timely manner
- Work with the WW Social Media Manager to boost relevant posts as needed and report out on metrics
- Update pages when relevant to reflect branding objectives g. cover images, profile images, and ‘about us’
- Connect with key influencers (gamers, system, modders, local LAN owners , other hardware manufacturers) to form partnerships that leverage cross-promotional marketing initiatives
- Monitor the social universe and implement response guidelines as needed
- Share key learnings from the English page to guide and support the various regional social owners
- Effectively communicate plans and updates among regional social owners
Required:
- An understanding of online “geek” culture, especially as it relates to computers and video games.
- 2+ years’ experience in managing social media platforms for business/brands
- Strong ability to tell stories that engage, inform, and influence behavior amongst PC DIYers and PC gamers
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Attention to detail, organized, self-motivated, and able to balance priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate with a team of social media managers dispersed across the world
- Ability to work with stakeholders across different departments, regions, and job roles
- Knowledge of PC hardware required
- Understanding of Adobe design and video tools is a plus
- BA/BS in public relations, communications, marketing, or English
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Willingness and flexibility to travel to events when required
